I'm passionate about sex in more ways than one. I'd like to live in a world that did a little less embarrassed giggling about sex and a little more honest talking; the media say that we won the sexual revolution, but I think it's clear that a great many people never really dare even think too clearly about what they'd really like to do, and insofar as they do they often assume it's unachievable. So I like to be as out as I can about the things I'm doing partly because it's an aspect of my pleasure evangelism; I want the world to know that there are real people who really do and enjoy these things, and plan to keep doing them until we're 100 and beyond.
Oh, and because announcing it here can make conversations in nightclubs quite interesting :-)
I'm bisexual. There seem to be a great many strange beliefs about bisexuality floating about; all you can know for certain about someone bisexual is that they are sometimes sexually attracted to both men and women. I was involved in running the national bisexual convention, BiCon in 2002; I think that this year's team will run an excellent BiCon and I'll certainly be there.
I'm polyamorous, or non-monogamous. My partners are Ergotia and Lili who I've been with since summer 1996, and Jessamy who I've entirely fallen for more recently. They are all very wonderful people that I'm most fortunate to have in my life. As well as sleeping with these people, I'm generally recognised to be a complete slut, and frequently find myself looking around a gathering of my friends realising that there's not a one in the room I haven't slept with.
I recommend Alison's excellent writing on the subject of polyamory: Creative Non-monogamy and How to be Not Monogamous; the alt.polyamory FAQs also contain some good stuff. The book The Ethical Slut is also well worth reading, if somewhat Californian in places.
I'm a sadomasochist. I used to tell myself that I was primarily a bottom who would sometimes top, but these days I have to admit that topping is just as important to me as bottoming and I wouldn't want to do without either. I'm a big fan of threesomes and group sex. Watching other people play is a joy, a privilege and a great learning experience; showing off is a lot of fun; and taking part with others is a very special buzz indeed.
